Extended Calculations

A unique feature of the XQue data manager is the ability to filter analyzer results through the Spreadsheet Calculator.

XQue is provided with common result calculation features including patient reference ranges, processing flag detection and QC validation. Where these need to be extended, say for delta checking, reflex testing and auto comments, XQue provides a link to a spreadsheet to perform calculations of any complexity

Most people know that spreadsheets allow calculations on individual spreadsheet cells. But lying just beneath the surface on every spreadsheet is a powerful computer language, called Visual Basic that can be harnessed to perform complex calculations on the same spreadsheet cells. By using a simple subset of VB you can perform complex calculations very simply without the need to master the full language.

XQue is the engine that loads the spreadsheet with result data, including previous results, and perform calculations like:

Apply a calculation to a result
Calculate a new result, combining results from other tests
Generate a reflex test
Remove a test not required
Calculate a flag
Apply comments to results

XQue then reads the results of the calculations you have performed and acts on the results.

This is a unique feature that allows XQue to leverage the potential of a standard PC product the power of which is generally unrecognized.
